YOUR CHILD’S EDUCATION BEGINS AT HOME

• Just Ask. Ask your children what they studied in class today — what they liked and what they learned. Asking questions shows that school is important.
•  Quiet Study. Choose a place for home study and make sure the room is quiet during that time. Creating a quiet place goes a long way toward helping your children learn.
•  Regular Schedule. Set up a certain time of day that is dedicated to homework. Follow up with your children to be sure their homework is complete and turned in on time. 
• Learn Together. If you want your children to read their assignments, give yourself an assignment, too. When it’s time for them to do homework, take a break and spend a few minutes reading a book, magazine or newspaper.
• Learn Everywhere. Increase your children’s interest in homework by connecting school to everyday life. For instance, your children can learn fractions and measurements while you prepare favorite foods together.
• Meet Their Teachers. Meet with your children’s teachers to find out what they are learning and discuss their progress in school.
• Praise Helps. Praise your children for successfully completing homework. Nothing encourages children more 

COMO APOYAR EL APRENDIZAJE EN CASA

• Pregunte. Pregúntele a sus hijos lo que estudiaron hoy en la clase – qué les gustó y qué aprendieron. El que usted preguntedemuestra que las tareas son importantes.
• Tranquilidad para estudiar. Aparte un lugar para estudiar en casa y asegúrese de que haya silencio mientras el niño estudia. El proporcionar un lugar tranquilo contribuye mucho al aprendizaje de sus hijos.
• Aprendan juntos. Si desea que sus hijos lean sus asignaciones, asígnese una a usted mismo Cuando llegue la hora de las tareas escolares, dedique unos minutos a leer usted un libro, revista o periódico.
• Aprendan dondequiera. Aumente el interés de sus hijos en los deberes escolares al vincular lo aprendido en la escuela con la vida cotidiana. Por ejemplo, pueden aprender quebrados y medidas al preparar juntos su comida predilecta.
• Conozca a sus maestros. Entrevístese con los maestros de sus hijos para entender lo que sus hijos están aprendiendo y hablar del progreso de sus hijos en las clases.
• La alabanza anima. Felicite a su hijo cuando logra terminar sus tareas. No hay nada más animador para un niño que la alabanza de sus padres.

EMERGENCY PROCEDURES/ PROCEDIMIENTOS DE EMERGENCIA

Parents,

In the event of an emergency, you would need to come to the REQUEST GATE on Bromont Avenue (blue gate) with proper identification (picture ID) to start the process to pick up your child.  The school is authorized to release students ONLY to individuals listed on their Emergency Information/Card.  School personnel will:

1. Greet and direct parents, guardians or designees to complete the necessary form/signature
2. Issue a “Permit for Release of Child During School Hours” only to an authorized person.
3. Direct parents, guardians or designees to Reunion Gate on Eighth Street.

The REUNION GATE is located on Eighth Street.  School personnel will:

1. Parents will receive child(ren) at the Reunion Gate only.
2. Personnel will verify authenticity of the “Permit for Release of Child During School Hours” and that students recognize the adult(s) that are taking them.
3. Have parent sign the form/log, note the time, keep the “Permit for Release of Child During School Hours” form and release the student to the parent.
4. Complete Student Release Log.

 IMPORTANT REMINDER:  The person requesting to pick up any students will need to have proper identification (picture ID) and be listed on the child’s Emergency Information/Card.

Padres,

En el caso de una emergencia, debe llegar al portón “REQUEST GATE” en la Avenida de Bromont (portón azul) con identificación con fotografía (ID de la imagen) para iniciar el proceso para recoger a su hijo.  La escuela está autorizada a dejar ir a los estudiantes sólo a las personas enumeradas en su información/tarjeta de emergencia.  El personal de la escuela se encargara de:

1. Saludar y dirigir a  los padres, tutores o representantes para completar y firma el formulario necesario
2. Emitir un "Permiso para Dejar ir a un Niño Durante Horas Escolares" sólo a la persona autorizada.
3. Dirigir a los padres, tutores o representantes al portón de reunión (Reunion Gate). 

El portón de reunión (REUNION GATE) se encuentra en la calle ocho (Eighth Street).  El personal de la escuela se encargara de:

1. Los padres solamente recibirán a sus hijos en el portón de reunión.
2. Personal verificará la autenticidad del " Permiso para Dejar ir a un Niño Durante Horas Escolares" y que los estudiantes reconocen los adultos que los están recogiendo.
3. Pedir a los padres que firmen el registro de formulario, anotar el tiempo, quedarse con la forma de "Permiso para Dejar ir a un Niño Durante Horas Escolares " y dejar ir al estudiante con el padre.
4. Completar registro de salida de estudiantes.

AVISO IMPORTANTE: La persona que solicite recoger a un alumno tendrá que mostrar identificación con fotografía y que su nombre aparezca en la tarjeta de información de emergencia del niño.
